Magic Gone for Wizards

For the Wizards, it has been a season of missed opportunities and floundering around .500 all season long.  On Monday, it was a chance for the Wizards to give their fans a Christmas present, but instead the D-Fenders took away their home court and made it look like L.A. This... [Read more...]

Bean Town (Boston) - For the Boston Red Sox, their captain, and their catcher, Jason Varitek, they had a perfect opportunity to snap the momentum away from the surprising Rays at one of the most venerable ball parks, Fenway Park.  The Tampa Bay Rays had other ideas as they tattooed... [Read more...]

National Scene

Texas Topples Bucks

Glendale, AZ - In a game that was one for the ages, the 2009 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl wasn’t without drama.  After a sloppily played first half, Colt McCoy and his Longhorns teammates began hooking the Bucks.  The second half was an old-fashioned western shootout with both offenses clicking, but with McCoy gun-slinging the ball, he gave #3 Texas a 17-6 lead.  With OSU going to a two quarterback system, Senior Todd Beckman and Freshman Terrelle Pryor, the Buckeyes began what looked to be a comeback that would give the Big 10 a win.  On Texas’ last possession of the game, McCoy proved to shoot the last bullet out of his gun that would give his team a less then convincing 24-21 win.

Sheriff’s Note: That leaves the Utah Utes having gone undefeated at 13-0, but because of college footballs boneheaded BCS system we have to listen to more whining and crying about coaches’ polls and AP National Champions.  College football should take a lesson from March Madness and have a field of teams compete for one championship.  Just because Utah goes undefeated, you mean to tell me that the Utes aren’t better than Florida or Oklahoma?  The BCS should examine itself, and once the season is over, crown one champion.  Sure you’re going to get a AP Nation Champion and fraudulent BCS Champion, and whoever wins the trophy should ship it off to Salt Lake City.  There is only one National Champion, and I think the Utah Utes got royally stepped on.

Sheriff's Viewpoint

Jeremiah

In this article, you will learn how a champ lives his life.  I have always had people that said, “you can’t do that.”  That’s where a little bit of my fire and passion comes from.  The other thing that I’ve always had is my parents.  They have always been very supportive of me.  I like when people challenge me and say I can’t.  Yes, I can.  All through school, and throughout the rest of my life, I will look at my life as a mountain.  When people say I can’t, there will always be a champion inside of my heart.  I always view life as a challenge.  I did not get on top of the sports world without people challenging me.  It has always been that way throughout my life.  Somewhere deep inside the kid from the heartland, there always lives a magical indescribable will.  If you knock me down, here comes the champion in me.  If you want to take shots at me, I can deliver a blow to you that will blow you away and make challengers think twice.  How does Jeremiah get the #1 website?  It’s by showing all those who underestimated me what I’ve got.
